Same RITE numbers on two different labels and two different artists credited! But it's exactly the same recording. Both records are in the same Sound Incorporated numerical series out of Detroit, Michigan.

Surprised to see my first recording (from 44 years ago) show up on the internet, "Something From The Twilight Zone". It surely was my worst attempt at singing. Sorry Barry (Combs), don't have any royalties to send you - but thanks for letting me sing your song. Living in Austin, and still writin & singin songs after all these years. Anyone (still alive) from back then who would care to hear my more recent songs can find me at TAXI.COM, under "Country" of course. ~ Rich Cutcher
ReplyDeleteI played drums on the original recording of this song. We did it in some basement studio in Detroit. The owner tried to talk us into letting him play steel guitar on the damn thing.
ReplyDeleteThat's Barry Raye (Combs) singing, Jim Mikulski on sax, me (Pat Bergin) on drums, Dick Johnston on bass and cary marsh on rhythm.
All of us were in our teens at the time. I was 14.
PS
ReplyDeleteThe original was released on Drifter records in 1959 or 1960 I think
Here's a link to the original
