Wanted : Sue Noble on Su-No

Sue Noble

Black Is Black (40" clip only alas)

Su-No Records

b/w Daddy Frank

Early-1970s private pressing by Su-No Records-- --Unusual take on the Los Bravos hit

Sound clip & label from ebay saved some six years ago. Comment above was from the seller. How right he is.  Certainly unusual. Su-No obviously was Sue Noble's own label, that's all I can say.  Never see this record again.   I certainly would like to hear the complete song.

Please leave a comment if you have any info on this record and/or on Sue Noble.

Evangelist Wayne Parks

Evangelist Wayne Parks

LP "God Will Set Your Fields On Fire!!"
Recorded live in Holy Ghost Revival

Deliverance-103
Stereo

From Wayne Parks Ministries website :
Wayne Parks, son of Rev. Al Parks, was born in Roanoke, Virginia. He grew up under the training of a classic Pentecostal background, and was taught the ways of God from a young child. He was born again at a young age.

As a teenager, he began going with his father in evangelistic ministry. In his mid-teens, Wayne Parks began his own ministry. Eventually, he came under the mentoring of anointed revivalist and tent evangelist A. A. Allen.

Throughout his twenties he maintained a traveling itinerary of tent revivals, ministering healing, miracles, and hard hitting preaching to multitudes over the years, with tremendous success by the power of the Holy Ghost.

In 1979, at 31 years of age, under the specific direction of the Holy Ghost, Wayne Parks moved his ministry headquarters to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and opened Full Gospel Church of the Living God; and continues the pastoral work there.

" This record is the culmination of many years of the Lord’s leading and preparation which began when as teenagers Donna and Bob individually gave their lives to Jesus Christ. Later they were brought together when Donna was camp nurse and Bob was camp counselor at Worralis Christian Life Camp.

After their maririage they enjoyed singing, so it was only natural that their daughters, Becky and Beth, learned to sing and enjoy music at an early age. The first family singing sessions were in the car during various vacation trips.

Now as teenagers, Becky and Beth have also given their lives to Christ and joined theiur parents in using their talents for His service.

As the Cavenee’s sing, « Jesus is The Answer For The World Today » they know by experience the truth of the song. He has been the answer to the searchings and the problems of their lives individually. Jesus has been the bridge between the generation gap faced by every family. He has continually been making » Something beautiful » of their lives.

Their prayer is to be faithful to the Lord ‘s leading and that this record will bless and challenge the hearts of all those who listen to claim Christ as Lord of their lives. "

Don McHan worked in the entertainment world for a number of years with groups like Jim & Jesse and he has written over a hundred songs that are on record by various artists, like Loretta Lynn ("The Pill") and Waylon Jennings. A performer, songwriter and musician Don went home (passed away) in 2003.

About "The Pill" the song he co-wrote :

[Excerpt from Music of the Counterculture Era, a book by James E. Perone]
Altough it might not ordinarily be considered a true counterculture classic, one of the great feminist songs of the 1970s was Loretta Lynn, T.D. Bayless and Don McHan’s « The Pill ». Lynn included the song on her 1975 album Back To The Country. Not only did the single release achieve success on the country charts, it also made it onto the pop charts. Due to the sympathetic treatment of birth control, the song wa banned by Boston radio stations, which helped « The Pill » gain consderable notoriety. « The Pill » also appeared on Loretta Lynn’s 1976 album Blue-Eyed Kentucky Girl. In the context of the latter album, which featured songs that looked at life from a uniquely female perspective, the appearance of « the Pill » suggest the extent to which reproductive freedom for women was becoming mainstream at the end of the counterculture era.
